Marijuana Business Daily has reported that one of the 3 companies awarded a license for growing a high-CBD medical marijuana strain has begun cultivation this week. Compassionate Cultivation, in Austin, will start growing with expected sales of their CBD oil in January. The second licensee, Consortium Texas has plans to begin selling CBD in December. Surterra Texas, the third and final company, is still waiting on their permit.
Under the restrictive CBD law in Texas, only people with intractable epilepsy qualify to buy and use the CBD, which is derived from cannabis.
